LEHIGH VALLEY ROLLER DERBY GIRLS
Created for the skaters by the skaters, Lehigh Valley Roller Derby is dedicated to providing an opportunity for women athletes to achieve their maximum potential, both athletically and intellectually through the sport of roller derby.
Through intensive training, competitive activities and community involvement, Lehigh Valley Roller Derby strive to embody specific core values including hard work, motivation, perseverance, respect for cultural diversity and continuous personal development. Our members are proud to be positive role models for young people by displaying a sense of good sportsmanship, personal integrity and ethical conduct and look forward to continued growth regionally and nationally.
The Lehigh Valley Rollergirls, established in January 2006, is a women’s flat track roller derby league, which has rapidly grown from just a handful of women meeting at open skates to an internationally ranked WFTDA member. Currently the league consists of two home teams, Metal Vixens and Blast Furnace Betties, and an All-Star team, which competes for international rankings. We train 2-3 times a week (Mondays, Thursdays, and sometimes Sunday) January through October. We accept transfer skaters at any time and hold open recruit at least twice per season for new skaters.
In October of 2016, the league started the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status, thus had to choose a new name. At that time we started our conversion from Lehigh Valley Rollergirls to Lehigh Valley Roller Derby. We are proud to announce that in July of 2017, our application was approved.
